Andytown Coffee Roasters is a coffee selling and roasting business in San Francisco, California. Named after the nickname of a town in Ireland, Andersontown, which was the former home of Michael McCrory. He and his business partner, Lauren Crabbe, established Andytown Coffee Roasters in 2014.

It’s Like Visiting Grandma’s House
The idea was to create a welcoming cafe that presents itself as if it is a customer’s grandmother’s house. This concept seems to have worked out well for the pair, as in the short five years since the business began in a six hundred square foot shop, they have expanded to support four locations.
The original Lawson location used to do it all, from the roasting to the brewing, but has since moved the roasting operation to the second location on Taraval St. In return, a bakery has been established in its place, providing fresh house-made pastries to every location.
Try Their Popular Irish Soda Bread
Each place has a calm, modern appearance, with cement floors, wooden tables, and white painted and tiled walls and drink ware. The baked goods, however, are where the “grandmother’s touch” comes in, with their popular authentic Irish soda bread, made from McCrory’s own grandmother’s recipe.
The latest location can be found on the 7th floor of 181 St, and is the only location thus far to have a kitchen that provides a lunch menu. This strives to offer a suitable reprieve for the busy, skyscraper-laden area that it is found in.
Whether you visit the downtown San Francisco location, or those near the beach in the Outer Sunset area, the coffee is the same.
Beans Are Sourced From All Over The World
Named in 2018 as “The Best Coffee in California” by Food and Wine, Andytown Coffee Roasters sources beans from all over the world, including Ethiopia, Brazil, the Philippines, and more. Roasted with their Probat roaster, the beans are sold in packaged wholesale form and as a subscription through their website, and in store.
Serving Award Winning Drinks
The beverages they craft come in forms of espresso, drip and iced coffee, mochas, macchiatos, lattes, and cappuccinos, but by far their most heralded drink, winning a slew of awards and press on its own, is their signature “Snowy Plover.”
Sometimes referred to as a coffee float, the drink combines ice, whipped cream, coffee, and Pellegrino to form a carbonated refreshment fit for the beach.
