Nestled on 32nd Street in the Highlands Neighborhood of Denver Colorado sits Café Zuri, a quaint coffee shop with a European twist. In 2012, the cafe opened its doors for the very first time.
Today, the cafe is known for its friendly atmosphere. They hold a ‘no wifi, no laptop’ policy, hoping to inspire their customers to connect with each other instead.
Stick around for long enough and you are sure to leave with a new friend. Their employees strive to learn their customers names and will even commit your favorite drink order to memory.
A No WiFi Cafe That Promotes Human Interaction and It Feels Like Home
Inside the cafe feels homey and quaint. A mixture of exposed brick, wood, and string lighting breathes life and character into the space. Their menus, written carefully on chalkboards, as well as photos of friends and family around the shop adds to the homey feel.
Rounding out the decor, various European items like license plates and signs are sprinkled around the shop. But there is not a sense of clutter, each item feels purposeful and adds to the character of the shop. As you enjoy your coffee and chat with new and old friends you will have plenty to look at.
They Offer European Inspired Food & Drinks
The deep European roots of the family who owns the shop doesn’t stop with the decor. Nearly everything served on their menu is European in origin.
Baked goods inspired by France, Switzerland, and Germany to name a few are constantly available. Their drink offering are also inspired by Europe, and they don’t just serve coffee!
In fact, the signature drink of Café Zuri is the Czech Mule, made with Herbal Czech Liquor, ginger beer, and a fresh slice of lime.
Beer, Wine and Mixed Drinks Can Be Found On the Menu
They also sell a variety of imported beer, wine, and mixed drinks. But don’t worry, if you are just looking for a good cup of coffee to go along with your baked good, they have that as well. This shop offers a full suite of hot and cold coffee beverages.
The Shop Hours Varies Throughout the Week
The shop hours vary and are subject to change with the seasons and on holidays. Monday through Wednesday they are open from 6 am to 5 pm. Thursdays they are open 6 am to 8 pm, Fridays from 6 am to 9 pm, Saturdays from 7 am to 9 pm, and Sundays from 7 am to 4 pm.
There’s Only One Amazing Location in Denver
This coffee shop is worth a visit, it stands out from its competitors and aims to create a unique experience. Unlike your popular run of the mill chain coffee shops found on every corner, Café Zuri is one of a kind. They have one location, and their only product in the online store is a gift card.
It seems that if you want to experience what this shop has to offer, you will just have to go there for yourself. So, the next time you are in Denver, make your way to The Highlands, pull up a chair, and enjoy a truly European experience.
