A Community Focused Coffee Shop

Downpours is a reference to the torrential rain they experienced on their first date. It was a name that stuck with them and reminds them of their beginnings. Before they started a coffee shop, they knew they wanted a business that was community-focused and what better way to do that than through coffee?

The Menu Features Classic Drinks, House-Made Syrups and Pastries

The menu at Downpours Coffee also includes Americano, espresso, lattes, drip coffee, and even macchiatos. All of their coffee is roasted by them in their commercial kitchen. Choose from a variety of house-made syrups that are among the best in Denver. They are known for their fresh baked good and they bake all their pastries daily to ensure a delicious and homemade experience.

Grab a Burrito With Your Coffee

People in the community love their burritos, also made daily. The burritos and pastries were a happy accident that started because Maria and Michael couldn’t find any local vendors who could deliver daily at the right time. They started making their own and eventually expanded into their own commercial kitchen.

They Offer Gluten Free Options

This led to the development of other fresh-made foods including almond milk, oat milk, syrups, and juice. If you’re gluten intolerant, they even have options for you. One of the things they make is gluten-free tortillas for their burritos.

It’s Modern and Neutral Interior Give it a Warm and Cozy Feel

The interior of Downpours is modern and neutral. White subway tiles line the walls where you order, while the other walls are a warm gray. The space is cozy and inviting and has wood floors and wood accents throughout. They have garage-door style windows for warmer days to create a better flow from the outside to the inside. The decor is simple but still inviting.

The Outdoor Seating Area Is Pet Friendly

Stay for a while to work, do schoolwork, or surf the internet. There are ample outlets for you to plug in your devices and laptops so you won’t run out of battery. If you’re out walking the dog, hang out in the outdoor seating area. They are dog-friendly and you’re likely to sit with other pets and owners if you sit in that area. Want to earn free coffee? Get the punch card. They offer incentives for frequent guests and love it when you fill-up the card.

Two Locations Serving Denver

With two locations and top-notch service, Downpours Coffee is a great locally owned business to frequent. Whether you stop in for breakfast and a hot cup of coffee, or you come by to finish up work in the afternoon, there is something for everyone.

Michael and Maria Hammerquist have created wonderful spaces to connect with the local community in Denver. Their baked goods, fresh almond milk, juices, and their own blends of roasts are a testament to their passion for creating good coffee and good food.
