Downtown Portland’s Monte Rossa Cafe is a small, down to earth environment in Chinatown that focuses on offering friendly, fast service for delicious drinks and food items.
The owner, Rob, opened the doors of the street-front coffee shop in 2010 and has been doing business ever since.

Their main initiative is delivering the best customer service possible while also making sure everything they make is up to par. Monte Rossa definitely meets both of these goals’ day in and day out, from a central location placed to be accessible to several areas of town!
They Offer The Finest Iced and Brewed Coffee
On their drink menu, they offer the finest in iced and hot brewed coffees, espresso beverages, and tea drinks. During holidays and for the four seasons, there are special drinks available to make your Monday morning a bit better as you trudge into work.
In addition to the specialty drinks, Monte Rossa also offers deli sandwiches, paninis, subs and salads.
Their Food Options Include Vegan and Vegetarian Choices
There are plenty of indulgent desserts to choose from as well, such as pastries and cheesecakes! There is a full menu of options and the staff are more than willing to customize anything to a guest’s preference. Vegan and vegetarian options are available, upon request.

A Community Based Cafe That Is Closed On Sundays and Does Not Offer WiFi
The cafe is not open on Sundays, nor does it offer WiFi. Rob, the cafe owner and operator, did this intentionally to nurture a more community-centered feeling in his shop.
His goal is to bring the people of Portland together and create an environment where people are encouraged to talk, visit, and share their lives with others around them.
The Building Is Wheelchair Accessible
The building is wheelchair accessible and offers lots of good parking that is close to the building and easy to pull into.
Both indoor seating as well as outdoor seating with large porch umbrellas are available so guests can take advantage of a warm, sunny day or enjoy the clean, welcoming interior.
There Is Plenty Of Seating For Large Groups and Meetings
There are smaller tables for two, larger tables with seats for a group, and seats by large, street-facing windows to accommodate any kind of meeting.
A clean barista bar with warm, wooden accents serves as the centerpiece of the cafe; the lighting is soft, creating a cozy, warm feeling to the entire inside of the shop. It’s a perfect environment to enjoy a steaming cup of your favorite drink while reading a new novel or catching up with an old friend.
