Port Side – Denver CO

Port Side

Port Side in Denver is one of the best booze and coffee places around. The owners, Mark Mann and Koan Goedman, began their coffee-making dreams when they opened Huckleberry Roasters.

They added on a chef, Chris Bell, a couple of years later and re-launched as Port Side. This means that guests get the best of both worlds.

Get the Best of Both Worlds At Port Side

They can enjoy fabulous coffee and craft alcohol alongside delicious foods that are sure to be a party in your mouth. While the fare includes simple-sounding foods like sandwiches, they are anything but. A breakfast sandwich that includes Duke’s or kimchi is sure to be a new delight.

The lunch menu includes pulled pork sandwiches, grilled cheese on sourdough, a rice bowl, or a refreshing vegan smoothie. On the weekends they serve a brunch menu with biscuits and gravy on Sundays.

Their Coffee Selections Provide Something For Everyone

Coffee selections include drip options to stay or to go, iced coffee, and plenty of espresso drinks. Their lattes are a fan favorite. They are made with love and include a pretty design on top of the foam. The place exudes trendy hipster hangout with the spirits, beer, wine, and cocktails on the menu. It’s the perfect place to meet with friends, have a quiet meal, or enjoy a local hangout.

They Offer Beer, Wine and Amazing Food

Mark, Chris, and Koan’s goals are to always have a menu that includes a vegetarian option, but that rotates through a few favorites. The keg is always ready. There are two for beer, two for wine, and two for kegged cocktails. Ask what’s on tap the next time you go in. If you don’t want booze, the coffee and tea selections are also a great option.

It’s Made From Old Shipping Containers

The place is cool and fun, made of old shipping containers turned into a building. The name Port Side is a nod to the containers themselves. The exterior feels industrial and modern.

The patio extends its capacity during the warmer months. Inside, the large windows cast ample light throughout the space. The walls are either white or covered in wooden planks.

Turned Into A Cozy and Welcoming Cafe

They have a cozy nook and counter height tables to sit at. There are simple pieces of art on the walls that add a bit of color to the otherwise simple palette. The interior is smaller than many of the local shops, but they are attentive and care about their customers. Its Five Points location makes it the perfect place to visit if you’re in the area.

The Food and Coffee Are Gourmet Status

Customers love how amazing the food is. They rave about even the simplest of sandwiches because the flavors are just that good. Think an egg sandwich can get you excited? It can if it’s from Port Side. They also create a pulled pork sandwich that got rave reviews.

Aside from the food, the coffee at Port Side is everything you’d expect at a trendy hipster spot in Denver. They make each cup fresh and serve it with kindness.

Additionally, they’ve been serving coffee long enough to know what it takes to make a consistent cup that tastes like heaven. The baristas are well-trained and focus on excellent customer service.
