Triumph Coffee – Portland

Triumph Coffee

This cafe is not one of those glitzy coffee shops that are springing up everywhere. It is an understated cafe that features retro furniture and has a kitsch sort of style.

If you are looking for a retro-style coffee house with a great vibe and friendly staff, then Triumph Coffee is going to appeal to you.

Have you checked out our recent article, is coffee toxic to pets?

A Retro Style Cafe That Offers Vegan, GF and Vegetarian Options

They seem to have a good reputation for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dishes. They have an extensive range of vegan food options. You can stick with the standard bagel with hummus, cucumber, and tomato or go for something a little more exotic.

They have a pretty full menu, much more comprehensive than some of the other coffee places we have reviewed. I imagine you would describe it as a neighborhood cafe. Oh yes, I almost forgot, it has a 100% health Score.

Their Food Menu Is Very Eclectic and Delicious

They have an electic range of breakfast sandwiches named after musicians – Mark Bolan, Barry Gibb, Andy Gibb, Michael McDonald, Black Sabbath, and Sir Elton. For example, The Andy Gibb consists of bacon, egg, and cheddar/pepper jack for just $8

The Lunch Time Menu Offers Gourmet Style Sandwiches

Some of their sandwiches has really cool names like: Stevie Nicks, Vegan Stevie Nicks and Jane Fonda. An example is: Vegan Stevie Nicks consists of Field Roast Wild Mushroom Deli Slices, Chao Cheese, Avocado, Tomato, Spinach, Veganaise, and stone ground mustard. This sandwich is served on a fresh-baked toasted Ciabatta roll with potato chips, and that will cost you $13

Their Drink Menu Offers a Wide Variety

Did I remember to tell you that the coffee is really delicious too! The coffee selection is amazing too. They serve Cafe Umbria beans, a pretty good range of specialty espresso drinks, a wide variety of teas, and a juice cooler with Kombucha.

They Have a Nice Selection of Tea Drinks Too

They also serve Tao of Tea selection (loose tea), This is something a bit special, and although it may cost just a little more than some drinks you will find elsewhere, it is really worth trying if you are a tea enthusiast.

The “to go trade” is pretty busy in the mornings, and there is consequently plenty of space to chill out and work. If you want fresh air, there are wooden benches outside on two sides of the building so you can get in the right position with the sun.

A Great Place To Meet With Friends or Work From All Day

The place is a bit of a meeting place for locals and is very stress-free, with locals just sitting around chatting or working on their laptops. Unusually for a place that specializes in food, the coffee was not only an add-on but was pretty good.

This Cafe Hosts Monthly Jam Sessions With Local Musicians

It is a real community cafe, and they host a monthly jam with local musicians. There are probably seats for around 36 people indoors, some of which are suitable for groups. There is both easy car parking and parking for anyone on a bike. There are plenty of power sockets and space to work.

If you are a bit bored of all the cloned coffee shops that have no character, then the gritty original style of Triumph, Coffee is going to be perfect for you. The cafe has a very positive ambiance and is somewhere you should try.
